Some people are afraid of the darkness

because it brings them terrors

that you can only imagine showing up in the abyss.

But I find comfort in it.

The way it embraces you like a hug,

wrapping you in itself.

The moon comes out. The stars become visible.

Everything becomes quiet

and it feels as though I have the entire world all to myself.
